History and Activities of the Publishing House
The formation of the publishing house began in 1974, when an editorial and publishing group was established at the university with an annual publishing volume of 70–80 printed sheets, approved by the USSR Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education.
With the development of the university’s scientific and educational activities, the volume of published literature increased significantly. The editorial and publishing group was transformed into an editorial and publishing department, and later its own publishing and printing base was formed, providing a full cycle of publication preparation — from manuscript to finished book.
In 1997, the editorial and publishing department was reorganized into the Publishing House of Karaganda State University named after Academician E.A. Buketov. The decision was made on the basis of the letter of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated November 4, 1997, No. 07-51/35-2232, and the university rector’s order No. 144 dated December 25, 1997.
In 2004, the university received a perpetual state license to carry out activities related to the publication of educational, methodological, and supplementary literature, and since 2005 the university has been registered with the National State Book Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan as a publishing organization and obtained international registration number 39.

The university publishing house is a combination of long-standing traditions, professional experience, and modern publication preparation technologies.
The formation of the Publishing House began in 1974. At first, it was an editorial and publishing group with an output of 70–80 printed sheets per year, approved by the USSR Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education.
As the volume of published educational and scientific literature grew, the editorial and publishing group was transformed into an editorial and publishing department (EPD), with an output of up to 300 printed sheets per year.
With the increase in incoming orders, the need arose to create its own production facilities.
The gradual equipping of the EPD with computer technology and printing equipment contributed to the formation of its own publishing and printing center, which made it possible to carry out the full cycle of producing scientific and educational-methodological literature — from the receipt of a manuscript to the release of the finished publication.
In 1997, thanks to the high scientific level of the published literature, a strong material and technical base, and the professional skills of its staff, the editorial and publishing department was reorganized into the PUBLISHING HOUSE of Karaganda State University named after E.A. Buketov.
On the basis of the letter of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated November 4, 1997, No. 07-51/35-2232, as well as Order No. 144 dated December 25, 1997, issued by the rector of Karaganda State University named after Academician E.A. Buketov, Academician of the International Academy of Higher School, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Zh.S. Akylbayev, the EPD was reorganized into the Publishing House with the transfer of the department’s functions and staff positions to it.
Since 2004, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan has granted the Republican State Public Enterprise “Karaganda State University named after Academician E.A. Buketov” perpetual State License No. 0000064 dated June 2, 2004, for activities related to the publication of teaching-methodological aids and supplementary literature.
In 2005, the Republican State Public Enterprise “Karaganda State University named after Academician E.A. Buketov” was registered with the National State Book Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan as a publishing organization engaged in the development of electronic educational publications and was assigned international registration number 39.
